Cedar Rapids man faces weapon trafficking charge

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man has been accused of trafficking a stolen gun.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, deputies pulled over 20-year-old Trajuan L. West on Aug. 4 at Wilson Avenue and 18th Street SW for a traffic violation. The stop led to West's arrest for driving while suspended.
The criminal complaint indicates A search of West's vehicle turned up seven individually wrapped baggies of marijuana, two sets of drug scales, $184 and a loaded .32 caliber Beretta pistol. Authorities said the handgun was reported stolen out of Iowa City.
West has been charged with trafficking stolen weapons, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and carrying weapons.
