Cedar Rapids man charged with sexual exploitation of a child

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man faces up to 90 years in prison after he was charged with sexually exploiting a child for nearly a year.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa, from August 2015 to July 2016, 22-year-old Michael Bordman sexually exploited a child. Authorities said Bordman also distributed, received and possessed child pornography.
If convicted, Bordman faces up to 90 years in prison with a minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison. He also faces a $1 million fine, $400 special assessment and up to life of supervised release following his release from prison.
The case is being investigated by the Cedar Rapids Police Department, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations.
