CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man is accused of pulling a machete after a road rage incident.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, Cedar Rapids police were called to the 1500 block of Sixth Street SW on Friday for a road rage incident. Responding officers learned that during the incident, 34-year-old Trevor L. Elson pulled a machete on two people and displayed it 'in a threatening manner.”
Police said Elson was also under the influence of alcohol, though he refused chemical testing. Officers found two pipes in his vehicle, both of which smelled like marijuana, according to the criminal complaint.
He was arrested and has been charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, drunken driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.
