Cedar Rapids man accused of hitting woman in face with rock

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man is accused of hitting a woman in the face with a rock.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, the assault happened Monday evening in the 10 block of Third Avenue SE. Authorities said 28-year-old Ryan A. Hepker repeatedly hit a woman in the face with a rock. The woman suffered multiple injuries that required medical treatment, police said.
Hepker was arrested and faces one count of assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years of incarceration.
