NORTH LIBERTY - A Cedar Rapids man is accused of breaking into a North Liberty business and taking a company vehicle.
According to North Liberty police criminal complaints, at 8 a.m. Sunday, Paris D. Moore, 28, entered Metal Monsters, a roofing company at 165 N. Highway 965. Police said Moore did not have the right or permission to enter the building and is not a 'direct employee” of Metal Monsters.
Police said after Moore entered the building, he took the keys to a company vehicle and took it for personal use. Moore returned the vehicle to Metal Monsters later in the day, but it was damaged, police said.
Moore faces charges of third-degree burglary, a felony, and operating a vehicle without the owner's consent, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted of both charges, Moore could spend up to seven years in prison.
