Cedar Rapids firefighters collect $32,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Association

CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids firefighters donated thousands of dollars this year to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
In the 32nd year of the 'Fill the Boot” campaign, the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 11 and the Cedar Rapids Fire Department raised more than $32,000. Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said IAFF Local 11 raised money for three months. Firefighters and their families collected donations in fire boots at various intersections in the city over Labor Day weekend.
