CEDAR RAPIDS - The 30th year for the Cedar Rapids Fire Department's 'Fill the Boot” campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Assocation was a good one.
According to a news release from the city, firefighters raised $34,122.67 during this year's campaign. Local firefighters were the top fundraisers in the state, according to the city.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department partners with the International Assocation of Fire Fighters Local No. 11 for the campaign. IAFF No. 11 raised money for three months and firefighters and their families collected donations at various intersections throughout the city over Labor Day weekend.
