CEDAR RAPIDS - One person was hospitalized Wednesday when a car left the road and crashed into a manufactured home.
According to Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow, first responders were called to the Grand View Village, 5410 Wabash St. SW, at 4:31 p.m. Wednesday for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Buelow said the motorist - a 66-year-old man - was on Arlington Street SW when he left the road, went through a field and then was launched into the back of a manufactured home in the 5600 block of Decatur Street SW.
Authorities believe the man suffered a medical emergency that caused him to pass out. Buelow said the driver was taken to a hospital, but did not suffer serious injuries.
A woman was in the manufactured home at the time the vehicle - a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze - hit the residence, but she was on the other side of the home and was not injured, Buelow said.
