Body recovered from Iowa River

HILLS - Police say a woman's body was recovered from the Iowa River Thursday afternoon.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, around 12:43 p.m., the sheriff's office took a report of a body floating in the Iowa River south of Hills Access campground. Deputies checked the area in boats and recovered a woman's body around 1:51 p.m. The identity of the woman is not yet known, police said.
The woman's body was taken to the University of Iowa Decedent Care facility. An autopsy is to be performed and the investigation is ongoing.
