Authorities investigate Cedar Rapids apartment fire

Cedar Rapids police and fire officials are investigating an apartment fire.
Firefighters responded to 1611 Park Towne Lane NE, Unit 4, at 6:34 a.m. Thursday. Responding crews were able to extinguish the fire and contain it to the kitchen area.
No injuries were reported, but the entire apartment complex was evacuated.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the police and fire departments.
