Authorities identify man shot by law enforcement in North English

NORTH ENGLISH - The North English man fatally shot in an officer-involved shooting has been identified.

Robin L. Blaylock, 53, of 108 S. Walnut St., was pronounced dead at the scene of a officer-involved shooting in the 100 block of South Walnut Street around 8:25 p.m. Saturday. An autopsy for Blaylock has been scheduled for Tuesday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Office and Williamsburg Police Department responded to a disturbance call involving a man with a gun Saturday night. No other details about the incident have been released, including the names of the officers or deputies involved in the shooting.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the officer-involved shooting, as is standard protocol in such cases.
