Attempted Iowa City gas station robbery under investigation

IOWA CITY — Police are investigating an attempted strong arm robbery at an Iowa City convenience store.
Iowa City police Sgt. Scott Gaarde said officers responded to the Kum N Go on Riverside Drive in Iowa City around 10:48 a.m. Monday. Gaarde said the suspect attempted to grab a money bag from an employee. The suspect then fled the scene without the money bag in an unknown direction.
Gaarde said the employee was treated at the scene for superficial injuries.
No one has been taken into custody, and the attempted robbery remains under investigation, police said.
