Arrest made in robbery outside of bank

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested in connection with a robbery outside of a bank.
According to a Linn County attorney's Office criminal complaint, on Aug. 18, two men threatened and robbed a woman of several bank bags and her purse when she was making a deposit at U.S. Bank, 4444 First Ave. SE. Authorities said the bank bags were tossed nearby. A witness told police they saw the suspect vehicle parked near the bank at a dead-end street.
Authorities said a suspect exited the vehicle, put a license plate on and fled the area.
Police found fingerprints belonging to 22-year-old Ezell R. Rilington on one of the discarded bank bags as well as the suspect vehicle's license plates, according to the criminal complaint.
Officers later found Rilington in the 1700 block of Seventh Avenue SW. He was taken into custody after a foot chase.
Police said Rilington was arrested and authorities found four baggies of crack cocaine, 13 baggies of marijuana and more than $500 cash on him, according to the complaint. Rilington has been charged with second-degree robbery, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and second-degree theft.
