11 arrested in Waterloo prostitution sting

WATERLOO — Eleven individuals — including one teen and a Marion man — have been arrested in a Waterloo prostitution sting.

According to the Waterloo Police Department, on Tuesday, the police department and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation conducted a human trafficking and prostitution sting at a local hotel.

As a result of the sting, 11 people were arrested:

— Adem Sakanovic, 42, of Waterloo.

— Larmin Trawally, 27, of Des Moines.

— Anglene Garrett, 23, of Waterloo.

— Stephen Thomas, 46, of Marion.

— Sade Vanarsdale, 23, of Cedar Falls.

— Travis Biggs, 29, of Cedar Falls.

— Tigstue Woldeyohanns, 28, of Cedar Falls.

— Sirr Gardner, 35, of Waterloo.

— Osama Alabbad, 30, of Dubuque.

— Cynthia Arshad, 42, of Waterloo.

— A juvenile, 17, of Cedar Falls.

Police said they are also conducting a pimping investigation that could lead to additional charges.
