The second of two Fairfield teens charged with killing their Spanish teacher has filed an appeal, asking the Iowa Supreme Court to overturn a district judge’s rulings. The judge has suspended the case pending the appeal resolution.

One of the Fairfield teens charged with killing their Spanish teacher is asking a judge to ban the public, including media, from a hearing later this month. The hearing is for a reverse waiver, in which the teens are asking the court to move their cases to juvenile court.
The trial for Alexander Jackson, accused of fatally shooting his parents and sister last June, will not go in April. It will be bumped out, possibly past the one year anniversary of the fatal shootings. His lawyers also plan to ask for a change of venue.
