Iowa City Liberty’s Bella Pettersen was an MVC divisional Player of the Year last season. She took steps to repeat that feat, earning medalist honors at the MVC Mississippi Division meet Monday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.
Cedar Rapids Washington Coach Dennis Goettel described the competition as a “mini state” tournament. The Warriors tied for the third-best score Tuesday at Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion.
Cedar Rapids Prairie’s Addie Berg claimed medalist honors at the CRANDIC girls’ golf meet, firing a 2-under 61 on her home course of Airport National. She tied the course’s best round by a female golfer set by Patricia Martinson in 1996.
