Saturday night saw the ECHL and Professional Hockey Players’ Association release a joint statement saying a potential new collective bargaining agreement has been agreed upon, with striking players expected to return to their teams to prepare for games before the new year. Players went on strike Friday, asking for increases in player pay, better game schedules and travel and mandatory days off to keep them healthy and most affective. Details on the agreement and when the league will begin playing again should come in an imminent fashion.
