Effective immediately, the Elder Services program will become known as Meals on Wheels of Johnson County. Its service of providing hot and frozen meals plus breakfast bags to senior clients in Johnson, Washington and Cedar counties will not change.

Horizons, A Family Service Alliance will provide gifts to homebound older adults in its Linn County Meals on Wheels program. The agency is requesting monetary donations so it may purchase gifts to also deliver to clients the week of Christmas.

The organization is looking for around 20 volunteers

Horizons’ Meals on Wheels program returned to daily hot meals on June 1, and needs volunteers as it is ramping up its delivery schedule from 33 routes a week to more than 160 in the Cedar Rapids, Marion and Hiawatha area.
