Even one of the best songwriters of our time doesn't fully understand how she writes her lyrics.
'It's like this little glittery cloud floats in front of your face,” Taylor Swift told The New York Times. 'And you grab it at the right time.”
Sometimes the lyrics of a song rhyme, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the words tell a story, and sometimes they are nonsensical.
Listen to one of your favorite songs and see if you can hear the normal lyrical structure of it. Usually you'll hear a verse of a few lines, then another verse that leads into a chorus.
Even the best songwriters had to start somewhere, and Swift was 12 when she wrote her very first song. Use this space to write yours!
