Marion’s Kaden Frommelt has been a catcher for most of his baseball career. Injuries made it necessary for him to take the mound this season. He delivered for the Wolves, improving to 5-0 after a complete game substate final win over Cedar Rapids Xavier.
Kaden Frommelt played in his first varsity baseball game before he even took his first high school class. The two-time all-stater is now the lone senior for the Class 3A second-ranked Wolves.
Marion freshman Grayson Kirsch had a feeling he would take the mound when he arrived at the field. He came through for the Wolves, retiring the last Cedar Rapisd Xavier nine batters in an 8-7 extra-inning win.
