Iowa City West earned a runner-up at the Class 4A district meet Monday at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville. The Trojans qualified for the state tournament for the first time since 2009. Senior Dillon Croco led West, winning medalist honors with 5-under 66.

Iowa City High’s Jake Mitchell played football his first two falls but joined then golf team as a junior when a broken leg suffered during baseball kept him off the gridiron.
