Maddie Harris decided to concentrate on volleyball when she arrived at Coe. After two years, she couldn’t resist a return to the softball diamond and the other sport she loves.

Esteban Perez gives every ounce of effort whenever he takes the field. He has made a big impact as an everyday catcher for the Rams, leading them with his hustle, toughness and durability. He reached bases in all six plate appearances, scored four runs and drove in another in Cornell’s 19-8 route of rival Coe.

Cal Sullivan has emerged as a leader on and off the baseball diamond for Kirkwood. He leads the Eagles in multiple offensive categories and is reaping the rewards of his hard work. He had five hits, including two home runs, in a home doubleheader sweep of Iowa Lakes on Friday.

University of Northern Iowa head wrestling coach Doug Schwab was named Coach of the Year Friday by the Big 12 Conference. He led the Panthers to a 14-1 dual record and a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships last week in Philadelphia.
