Officials seeking information about illegal dumping

Computer forensics is a relatively new field in law enforcement, but it’s quickly become one of the most necessary, according to investigators on the Joint Forensic Analysis Cyber Team, or J-FACT, of Johnson County. Seven adults and one 17-year-old were arrested Thursday and Friday on charges related to a shooting that happened in October in Tiffin, according to a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. The teenager, who is not named in the release, is charged with attempted murder.

City High School in Iowa City will put up a plaque to honor a man who drowned while saving a child from the Iowa River Friday. The man, Wegayewu Faris, had been a custodian at City High since 2005.
