Track and field: It’s a season of adjustment for Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s Addison Swartzendruber, who with twin Sidney out for the season with a stress fracture, has “to take accountability myself.”

Drake Relays (Thursday boys): In his first time on the track in more than a week, Jesup’s Jack Miller claims the long jump championship.

Drake Relays (Thursday girls): Two schools, two school records in the high jump for Sydney Maue. The Mount Vernon newcomer is a runner-up, clearing 5 feet, 7 inches.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union have released the BEDS Documents for the 2024-25 school year. The file is used to classify schools for postseason tournaments.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and the Iowa High School Athletic Association have released state qualifying meet assignments for Thursday, May 9. Qualifiers advance to the state meet May 16-18 at Drake Stadium, Des Moines.
