Coverage from Tulsa:
» Ohio State dominates the block to upset Iowa State
Turning point: After Marial Shayok's jumper gave Iowa State its first second-half lead with 3:40 left, Ohio State's Keyshawn Woods answered with five straight. Woods canned a jumper, then after a Musa Jallow steal, he drilled a 3-pointer off an inbounds pass to put Ohio State up 58-54 with 2:42 to go. Lindell Wigginton nailed a 3 to get within one with 23 seconds remaining, but after Woods hit 2 of 2 free throws and both teams missed the front end of one-and-ones, Nick Weiler-Babb's last 3-point attempt clanked off the front of the rim.
MVP: Kaleb Wesson was a load inside Iowa State had trouble containing all night long. He totaled 21 points (15 in the second half) on 8-for-15 shooting, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Key stat: 0-11. Iowa State missed 11 straight field goal attempts from the 11:12 to 1:29 marks in the first half. The Cyclones still only trailed 26-24 at halftime, but it was a notable stretch in which even a basket or two could have made a difference in a close game.
