Gov. Kim Reynolds signed dozens of bills into law Wednesday, including those related to pregnancy centers, swatting calls, retail theft, “deepfake” child pornography, and nuisance strip clubs.

Added to the legislation was a ban on food assistance benefits from being used to purchase egg substitute products.

The Senate has been hesitant to take up legislation dealing with eminent domain for carbon capture pipelines in Iowa.

Under the bill, cities with existing systems like Cedar Rapids would need to apply for approval but could continue using the cameras until the request is processed.

The bill, which would temporarily lift limits that would apply to the Boy Scouts, now heads to the Iowa House for consideration. Lawmakers face an April 19 deadline.

The measure, which Gov. Kim Reynolds called for in her annual Condition of the State address in January, sailed through the Legislature with unanimous support in February.
