Iowa, Iowa State, UNI set for NCAA track meet

The Iowa, Iowa State at UNI track and field teams wrap up the season this week at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

The meet runs today through Saturday and will be televised on a variety of ESPN networks, beginning today on ESPNU.

The Hawkeyes will have 14 entries in the four-day meet, including former Iowa City West prep Austin West in the decathlon. He ranks fifth in the event with a season-high 8,038 points. West also will run on the 1,600 relay team with Chadrick Richards, Spencer Gudgel and Julien Gillum.

Junior Austin Kresley also will compete in two events, the 200-meter dash and 400 relay with Kalen Walker, Gratt Reed and Deandre Stapleton Jr.

Iowa State has five entries in six events, including Cailie Logue in the 5,000 and 10,000 runs.

UNI will be represented by Isaiah Trousil, Makenna Wilson and Mari Shavers. Trousil will compete in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.
