The University of Iowa has agreed to pay one of its former track and field coaches $125,000 -- plus another $15,000 in attorneys’ fees -- as part of a settlement agreement that involved his voluntary resignation on July 22.

While it certainly wasn’t the most beautiful of mornings Monday in downtown Cedar Rapids, the runners who competed in the Fifth Season 8K and 5K were able to finish just before the rain and thunderstorms began around 8:45 a.m. Matt Lorenz won the men’s 8K, while Elaina Biechler was first on the women’s side.
