Linn-Mar and Iowa City West have been selected as host schools by the Iowa High School Athletic Association for the Class 2A boys’ tennis district singles and doubles tournaments to be held around the state on May 8.

But Iowa baseball coach Rick Heller ultimately won the multi-sport recruiting war, and Morgan is coming off his best starting pitching performance of the season last weekend at Ohio State.

Cedar Rapids Prairie’s Kylie Wachtl posted her first hole-in-one on the No. 9 hole Wednesday at Twin Pines Golf Course in Cedar Rapids. She finished in a three-way tie for second, one shot back of Linn-Mar medalist Morgan Rupp at the CRANDIC golf meet.
