Loeffler: A passion for working with people and businesses
Pat Loeffler

I am a lifelong resident of the city of Cedar Rapids. I currently have three children and three grandchildren living here also.
The decision to run for City Council came easy for me. Having children and grandchildren living in the area is what motivates me to get involved even more. Owning a small business in the Czech Village area, my wife Kymm and myself have had the opportunity to hear firsthand from citizens who have issues and concerns for this great community.
Buy Local/Build Local is very close to my heart. Money invested in this community is spent 10-fold when locally bought and built.
Public safety is continuing to be a main concern for the citizens and myself. I'm not sure what the perfect answer is, but I do want to be a part of the solution.
Currently, my job has me dealing with and following through with workers' issues that are personal to them. Their issues are my issues. The City Council and the community issues would just be on a larger scale.
I'm definitely ready for the challenge, working with people and businesses is a passion that drives me to strive for success in my personal life, which would benefit the Cedar Rapids community. This is why I am asking humbly for the peoples vote. My family roots run deep in Cedar Rapids. That is why I want this city to continue to grow and flourish.
Pat Loeffler is a candidate for Cedar Rapids City Council at-large.
