Iowa City council member John Thomas seeking re-election

IOWA CITY - Council member John Thomas has announced he is seeking re-election.
Thomas, a retired landscape architect from San Francisco, has represented District C in Iowa City since 2016. He is running for the same seat.
Before his election to the council, Thomas served on the city's planning and zoning commission from 2012 to 2015 and was also the Northside Neighborhood coordinator from 2010 to 2013. Thomas is also a member of the Friends of Hickory Hill Park board.
Thomas said his goals for a second term include developing a street improvements plan and updating the Affordable Housing Action Plan.
