Iowa high school football schedule: Who the ranked teams face in Week 5 (Sept. 27, 2024)

Here’s a look at who all 70 Iowa high school football teams ranked in this week’s Gazette poll face in Week 5 games Friday night.

West Des Moines Valley looks likely to become the first Class 5A team to win with the current No. 1 ranking this season when it visits Ames on Friday night.

Two top-ranked teams have top-10 matchups in other classes Friday: Solon opens Class 3A district play against No. 7 Grinnell and West Lyon hosts eighth-ranked Western Christian in a Class 2A battle.
