Iowa high school football playoffs 2023: Brackets, Round of 16 schedule

Paths to the UNI-Dome have been mapped out. The Iowa High School Athletic Association released Round of 16 pairings for the Iowa high school football playoffs Saturday morning.

Teams were placed in pods of four. The winners of those pods advance to the state semifinals at the Dome.

Class 5A playoff qualifiers were determined by RPI. In 4A and 3A, district champions and runners-up advanced automatically and four at-large bids in each class were handed out via RPI.

The Round of 16 is the second round of the postseason for Class 2A, 1A, A and 8-Player (first-round games were Friday night) and the first round for Class 5A, 4A and 3A. The quarterfinals are Friday, Nov. 4 for the 11-player classes and Thursday, Nov. 2 for 8-Player.

All Round of 16 games kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27.
