In terms of the quantity of high-profile games between ranked teams, Week 2 of the Iowa high school football season can’t compete with Week 1.
But quality? There is still a lot of interest here.
Dowling and Valley meet in their annual battle of West Des Moines, one of two top-five Class 5A matchups this week.
Plus, a pair of Class 3A teams get to measure themselves against Class 4A powers, including 3A No. 2 Williamsburg traveling to face Cedar Rapids Xavier, 4A’s top-ranked team and reigning champion.
