The Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department “made the difficult decision to cancel the Wednesday Farmers Market for at least the 2022 season,” according to an email vendors received. Not enough vendors signed up before the Feb. 15 deadline.
The Iowa City Council on Tuesday unanimously agreed to require all farmers market vendors carry liability insurance. Previously, only grilling vendors were required to carry that insurance.
