University of Iowa student accused of sexual assault on campus

IOWA CITY - A University of Iowa student is accused of committing sexual abuse on campus.
According to a University of Iowa police criminal complaint, the assault happened on November 12 or 13, 2017 in a dorm room. Authorities said 19-year-old Cannon M. Allen performed a sex act on the victim after the victim verbally withdrew consent.
Allen has been arrested and faces one count of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Allen is listed as a student in the UI directory.
