MARION - Two Cedar Rapids residents suffered non-life threatening injuries in a car crash early Wednesday.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, deputies, Marion police and fire and Area Ambulance responded to the area of Highway 100 and 44th Street around 12:19 a.m. for a report of a car in a ditch. Authorities said 53-year-old Donna M. Brawner was driving southbound on 44th Street, failed to stop at a stop sign and crossed Highway 100 into a ditch.
Brawner and her passenger, 57-year-old Robert F. Brawner, were both taken to Mercy Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. They were both wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, authorities said.
Donna Brawner was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, the sheriff's office said.
