CEDAR RAPIDS - A 17-year-old female collapsed on the deck at Cherry Hill Aquatic Center around 2 p.m. Friday and became unresponsive, according to Parks and Recreation Coordinator Gail Loskill.
A manager with the city's largest aquatic center performed CPR on the teenager, Loskill said, and she regained consciousness before being taken to Mercy Medical Center in an ambulance.
Loskill declined to identify which staff member performed CPR on the girl.
Loskill added she does not have any additional information about the girl's medical status.
A spokesman for Mercy Medical Center declined to comment.
More than 1,000 people were at the Cedar Rapids pool, 341 Stoney Point Road NW, Friday afternoon as temperatures topped 90 degrees.
Many friends and family came out to cheer on the swimmers at the All City Swim Meet at Cherry Hill Aquatic Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Saturday, July 21, 2007.
