Police investigate after knife pulled at South East Junior High School in Iowa City

IOWA CITY - Police are investigating after a knife was pulled during an argument between two South East Junior High students Wednesday afternoon.
The incident comes a week after police seized two knives from a student at the school.
According to a letter sent to South East Junior High families, a verbal argument took place between two students Wednesday afternoon. School officials said a knife was displayed by one of the students. Officials intervened and no one was injured.
The Iowa City Police Department responded to school and are investigating the incident.
On May 8, school administrators learned about a threat made toward the school by two students. Officials investigated and two knives were taken from one of the students.
Iowa City police were called to the school that day and the juvenile was cited for carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor. Police and school officials said there was no known credible threat to staff or students.
