NORTH LIBERTY - A North Liberty woman is accused of gambling away more than $30,000 of someone else's money.
The alleged theft occurred over the course of seven years, between January 2007 and February 2014, according to the North Liberty Police Department. Police said during that time, 66-year-old Nancy J. Salisbury was overseeing the victim's day-to-day finances. The victim is not identified in the criminal complaints.
Police said while managing the victim's finances, Salisbury repeatedly withdrew money from the victim's account, which she then spent at area casinos. Salisbury gambled away more than $30,000 of the victim's money, police said.
Salisbury has been arrested and faces charges of ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B felony; and first-degree theft, a Class C felony. If convicted of both charges, Salisbury could spent up to 35 years in prison.
