Marion, Cedar Rapids officials respond to peroxide spill

MARION - Marion and Cedar Rapids authorities responded to a peroxide spill Monday evening.
According to information from Marion police and the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, first responders were called to Spee Dee Delivery, 3780 Fourth Ave., around 8:30 p.m. for a peroxide spill. The Marion Fire Department requested Cedar Rapids respond with its hazardous materials team.
The haz-mat team arrived on the scene and contained the peroxide, which had spilled from one 45 pound container.
Authorities stayed on the scene to ensure everything was safe, officials said.
Authorities said employees evacuated the business before their arrival.
