Iowa City men face numerous drug charges

Two Iowa City men face numerous drug-related charges after police found pot, cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms in their residence.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, officers executed a narcotics search warrant at 209 E. Bloomington St. at 9 p.m. Tuesday. The residence is occupied by 21-year-old Robert R. Studley and 23-year-old Adrian Fonseca, according to criminal complaints.
The complaints pertaining to Studley state that police found a large amount of packaging material, a digital scale, a large amount of cash and a large amount of marijuana cannabis - a concentrated form of marijuana. Studley told police he sold wax after receiving it in the mail from legal states such as California. In addition to the wax, police said they found several packages of cocaine. Studley allegedly told police he bought half an ounce of cocaine every three weeks.
Police also located a psilocybin mushroom grow operation in Studley's bedroom. The hallucinogenic mushrooms were being grown in three large totes in Studley's bedroom closet, police said. Studley admitted to growing the mushrooms as a project, which netted more than two pounds of mushrooms, police said.
In Fonseca's bedroom, officers found cocaine and marijuana, police said. Fonseca admitted to having marijuana for personal use.
Studley faces three counts of controlled substance violation - two Class C felonies and one Class D felony; as well as one count of keeping a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor. Fonseca faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor; and keeping a drug house.
