Dec. 24, 2014 8:50 am
IOWA CITY - Child pornography was discovered on an Iowa City man's computer, police said.
According to Iowa City Police criminal complaints, on Dec. 18, an officer was called to a residence at 2401 Highway 6 E. for possible child pornography on a computer. Police seized the computer of 22-year-old Preston A. Cole.
A search of the computer turned up hundreds of pictures of male and female children, ranging from infants to teenagers, police said. Police said the pictures depicted the children in various stages of undress as well as 'provocative poses.”
Cole admitted to downloading the images for his own gratification and told police he knew what he was doing was illegal. He was arrested and now faces one count of possession of images depicting a minor in a sex act. The aggravated misdemeanor carries a sentence of up to two years in prison.
