An Iowa City man was arrested Thursday and accused of being in possession of child pornography.
Joseph Daringer, 73, faces two charges of the purchase or possession of child porn, according to a Thursday arrest warrant.
Daringer was in custody as of Friday morning, and an arrest warrant for him requested his bond be set at $10,000.
Several pieces of evidence were located on electronic devices belonging to Daringer, according to a police report. Of those, six photos were of children younger than 18 'engaged in sexual acts.”
Five of the photos were of the same girl, while the sixth was of a different girl, authorities said.
The arrest came about after the Iowa City Police Department received two cyber tips in February 2016 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Tips to the center can be made online at missingkids.org or by calling 1-800-843-5678.
The tips referenced the uploading of possible media of child exploitation to the photo sharing website Flickr.
Both counts are aggravated misdemeanors and have a maximum penalty of two years in prison.
