IOWA CITY — An Iowa City man has been arrested in connection with an April robbery.
Dayvel A. Faulkner, 18, and two unidentified co-defendants took more than $2,200 in cash, a cellphone and a set of keys from an apartment in the 3500 block of Eastbrook Street around 2 a.m. April 3, according to an Iowa City police criminal complaint.
Police said the robbery happened after Faulkner and the co-defendants hit a person in the face in a parking lot.
Police said Faulkner forced the person to take him into the residence. There, Faulkner and the two co-defendants assaulted the victim again and one person fired a round into the neighboring apartment, police said.
The victims of the robbery and two teenage girls who were present identified Faulkner as one of the robbery suspects, police said.
Faulkner was arrested Monday and faces one count of first-degree robbery, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
