Hiawatha man faces drug charges after controlled buy

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Hiawatha man is accused of selling controlled substances to a confidential informant from the Cedar Rapids Police Department during a controlled buy.
David X. Henry, 33, was arrested at 3 a.m. Jan. 1 after allegedly selling cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana in two incidents.
Henry delivered almost 20 grams of meth and just over 3 grams of cocaine to a confidential informant on Oct. 21, 2020, according to a criminal complaint. Cedar Rapids police conducted the controlled buy at an auto repair shop in the southwest part of the city.
On Jan. 26, 2021, Henry delivered 4.2 grams of cocaine and nearly 40 grams of marijuana to a police informant at Lindale Mall during another controlled buy, according to a criminal complaint.
Henry is facing four felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance, as well as one felony count of drug tax stamp violation.
Henry’s bond was $20,000. He was released from the Linn County Jail to Iowa Department of Corrections supervision following his arrest.
