Senators in Minnesota passed a bill Saturday that would allow recreational marijuana use by people over the age of 21 and make it the 23rd state to legalize the substance for adults.

While Republican majorities in Iowa’s Legislature are unlikely this session to mimic moves made in surrounding states easing restrictions on cannabis, supporters pushing for reforms in Iowa see growing support.
The study took place between September of 2019 and July of 2021 at trauma centers in Iowa City, Iowa; Miami and Jacksonville, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; Baltimore; Worcester, Massachusetts; and Sacramento, California. Medical examiners at four of the sites also took part.
