OXFORD - A Coralville man is accused of drunkenly firing a gun and driving a truck.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called out just before 11 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a group of men shooting a gun toward a woman who was on a walk. Authorities said the men were located shooting at a target in a field. They left the scene and were then stopped at 1414 Black Diamond Road.
Authorities said one of the men, 41-year-old Fabian Martinez Ocampo admitted to shooting the gun and driving the truck. Authorities said Martinez Ocampo smelled like alcohol and admitted to drinking. A preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol content to be .093 percent, over the legal limit of .08 percent.
Martinez Ocampo was arrested and faces charges of reckless use of a firearm, a simple misdemeanor; and drunken driving, a serious misdemeanor.
