CEDAR RAPIDS - An arrest has been made in a late January shooting and robbery.
According to a Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint, 18-year-old Dmontrey R. Redmond, of Cedar Rapids, has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree robbery.
Cedar Rapids police officers were called to 3700 First Avenue NW at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 27 for reports of a shooting. Responding officers found the 18-year-old victim, who had been shot in the right arm and both upper thigh areas, according to court documents. Police said the victim had been shot and robbed by Redmond.
The shooting occurred just hours after police responded to a shoots fired incident near 16th Street and Bever Avenue SE, which was reported at 7:30 p.m. Police said a house in the 300 block of 16th Street was hit, but no injuries were reported.
