Cedar Rapids police investigating robbery at KFC

CEDAR RAPIDS - A fast-food restaurant was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday, police said.
According to a Cedar Rapids police news release, officers were called to KFC, 1341 First Ave. SE, at 6:44 p.m. for a report of a man entering the business, pulling a handgun and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The suspect then fled on foot, police said. No one was injured during the robbery.
Officers searched the area, but could not locate the suspect.
Authorities said the suspect was wearing a blue shirt, red sweatpants, a black face mask and black gloves. He was last seen running east through the alley behind KFC.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the police department.
